The city of Bogota was first discovered by a conquistador who was searching for the golden city of El Dorado. El Dorado was thought by many as a fantasy. You can find its collection of golden artifacts in the Museo del Oro. Bogota has a climate of high altitude because it is situated near the equator. If you come to Bogota, you can observe that this city is made by the beautiful architecture which have the modern as well as the colonial design. They have also shanty towns in the other parts of the city. You can see the lively theater performances in the Plaza de Bolívar.
