We spend our penitence at “Our Lady of Guadalupe Shrine” with my workmates Venus, Rose and Acky. The Shrine is located at Balubal (within Cagayan de Oro City). They say that it’s hard to have a river trekking but I decided to try it (very challenging for me).

That was last Holy Thursday (April 9, 09) at 7:00 am. We met at Dunkin Donuts Divisoria and we ride a jeepney which is Bugo Liner. After that, we ride another local commuter which we called tricycle that cost 5 pesos per head (so we pay 20 pesos).

Most of the kids offers or sell sticks for walking down the streams of the river. They sell it good for 2 pesos but I decided not to buy. When we started to cross the river, I and Venus was holding each other’s hand and I didn’t expect how hard or difficult it was. As long as we survived the first river, I already told myself, I can do it. After the first crossed we gathered and pray at the cross placed nearby the river which is also the same as what we did for the eight rivers we passed. After the fulfilling adventure at last we reached the last river as well as the chapel.

We’re very much thankful, because we spent 2 ½ hours by doing river trekking, send prayer to our Father and get some pictures on it.
