Noi Bai International Airport

Noi Bai International Airport is an international aerodrome that mainly serves the traveling demand of Hanoi Capital as well as the neighborhood countries. It substitutes for Gia Lam airport. Noi Bai airport is considered as the major operation center of Vietnam Airlines, Vietjet Air, Jetstar Pacific Airlines, and also Indochina Airlines, Air Mekong in the past.

Noi Bai International Airport is located in Soc Son District. It takes 35 km to travel from here to Hanoi - the capital city of Vietnam along the road to the northwest.

Passenger Terminal T1 is totally designed by Vietnamese architects with the bold national identity. It can be regarded as a sky gate welcomes all visitors from every corner of the world when coming to the Capital. This construction is highly appreciated in terms of aesthetics and used to win the first prize of Vietnamese architecture. However, in practice, just only a part of the project is conducted.

Passenger terminal T2 is designed and constructed by Japan with ODA (Official Development Assistance) from Japan. It was inaugurated in early 2015. The airport has two command towers, one of which is 90 meters high. This is the highest air traffic control tower in Indochina. It is currently the largest airport in Vietnam in terms of maximum area and capacity. Passenger traffic is still the second after Tan Son Nhat airport.

How to get to City Center


Taxis are the most simple, convenient, and easy-to-find option for you when transferring from Noi Bai airport to the city center, Hanoi. Normally, the taxi companies don’t apply the fixed price for Noi Bai – Hanoi route like Hanoi – Noi Bai route; however, they calculate according to the price of the meter on the car. With a distance of about 27 km – 35 km to the city center, passengers often pay around 300.000 VNĐ - 400.000 VND.

As for traditional taxi services, passengers can take a taxi immediately after leaving the airport terminal. Mini Bus

• Ticket price: 40,000 VND per time

• Route: Noi Bai airport – Pham Van Dong – Hoang Quoc Viet – Nguyen Van Huyen – Dao Tan – Kim Ma –Nguyen Thai Hoc – Tran Nhan Tong.

• Driving time is approximately 60 minutes per time

• Drop off according to the request of passengers along the route and the last place is Thong Nhat Park, Tran Nhan Tong gate

Jetstar Pacific airlines

• Ticket price: 40,000 VND per time

• Route: Noi Bai – Thang Long bridge – Pham Van Dong – Hoang Quoc Viet – Nguyen Van Huyen – Dao Tan – Ngoc Khanh Bus station

• Driving time is about 60 minutes per time

Public Bus

Bus route 07: Cau Giay – Noi Bai

• Ticket price: 8,000 VND for one ticket

• Driving time: 1 hour

• Frequency: 3 – 8 – 20 minutes/trip

• Operation time: 5 am to 10:35 pm

• Length of route: 27.5 km
