This holy week season considered as a grand celebration for all Christians particularly for the Catholics in order to commemorate the last week of earth life of Jesus Christ and to its resurrection on Easter Sunday. For several Kagay-anons who wanted to deepen their Catholic faith to God would usually participate or get involve to the activities of their respective parishes upon celebrating the holy week especially Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Holy Saturday and Easter Sunday. Aside of from respective parishes or chapels, there also good venues for several Kagay-anons who wanted to celebrate this Holy Week season and Easter Sunday in a meaningful way, with abstinence and reflective manner that includes the following:
- Joining the Holy Week Triduum Retreat in Xavier University Chapel with Fr. Primitivo Viray, Sj and Fr. Jose Ramon T. Villarin SJ. (April 1, 2, and 3). The Sacred Day of Xavier entails Daily Retreat Conferences, and Liturgical Services.
- For those people who are very much interested to have a stay in retreat by April 1 to 3 with the guidance of Fr. Asandas Balchand, SJ., this will be held in SEARSOLIN Manresa Complex.
- The Divine Mercy Shrine in El Salvador, Misamis Oriental is also a good site to spend on a solemn celebration of Holy Week season with abstinence.
- The Guadalupe Shrine in Tablon, Cagayan de Oro City considered as good site to have station of the cross.
- Malasag in Cugman, Cagayan de Oro City also serve as good site as to celebrate holy week with abstinence especially upon having station of the cross.
These five sites in Cagayan de Oro are well recommended as to celebrate in this season of holy week and Easter Sunday aside from being involved to its various parishes or chapel. Just take some time of choosing on where to celebrate the holy week season. Since, the most important aspect is not merely the event but the things that been gained and participation of commemorating of this season with sincerity.
