Winter Holidays In Lanzarote

Summer´s over in mainland Spain but there’s still one region where the sun just keeps on shining. As the Canaries, located off the coast of Morocco, enjoy clement weather all year round. Making them a popular winter destination with sun starved Northern Europeans.

Despite the current recession millions of tourists are still expected to book holidays in Lanzarote and the other six Canary Islands this winter. Where they will be able to enjoy temperatures in the 20´s (Celsius) and plenty of daylight – as the sun doesn’t set here until 6pm at the very earliest.

Visitors to Lanzarote will also find that the cost of flights to the island has dropped a little this year. Thanks to the fact that a number of the biggest low cost flight operators – Ryanair and easyJet – are now both competing on this route. Offering flights to Lanzarote from all of the major airports across the UK.

In the unlikely event that the weather turns inclement for a day or two Lanzarote also offers plenty for visitors to do and see. Such as the breathtaking and surreal scenery of the Timanfaya Volcano Park and the many creations of a local artist and architect called Cesar Manrique. Who developed a series of unique visitor attractions such as the Jameos del Agua, Cactus Garden and Mirador del Rio around the island.
